Education

Family & Consumer Science Education (FCS) are middle and high school classes that relate to real world education, ensuring that students are college and career ready. These classes follow the curriculum of Career and Technical Education classes (CTE) which focus on hands on learning and student individuality. These courses help students prepare for working in environments such as kitchens, childcare centers, medical offices, and any sort of family or consumer science fields. This education directly relates to FCCLA's purposes, national programs, and our chapter's activities. These activities include volunteering to help the childcare practicum class with its daycare program, and partnering with the culinary program for a holiday cookie decorating event. With courses like these, students are able to become efficient and capable high school scholars and young adults. FCCLA works with FCS classes by exploring new leadership and career opportunities. Sumner High School offers a multitude of FCS classes that can be taken by any person.  We love Family and Consumer Science Education!
